Louis Vuitton, purveyor of luxury merchandise, has announced plans to open a new and expanded store at 295 N. Rodeo Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999.

This store features 12,000 square feet on two levels and dedicates more than 5,000 square feet to retail selling space. The entire Louis Vuitton range of accessories and luggage will be presented as well as the highly successful new women's and men's Ready-to-Wear and shoe collections designed by Marc Jacobs.

 

"The exclusivity and allure of Rodeo Drive combined with the sense of style and excitement of shopping here, will provide a perfect West Coast complement to our flagship in Soho, New York. We have waited patiently for the ideal location in Beverly Hills and we are very much looking forward to opening our newest location," commented Thomas O'Neill, president, Louis Vuitton Americas.

The design, by noted architect Peter Marino, follows Louis Vuitton's global store concept fashioned after its Paris, London, Soho and Osaka flagships. Blending elegant timelessness and refreshing modernity, the shop features a circular two-story rotunda entrance, beige limestone flooring and a beautifully appointed exterior featuring a limestone facade with dark bronze detailing.

The interior mixes clean, crisp contemporary colors with luxurious furnishings, exotic hardwood flooring and rich burgundy leather accents. These detailed appointments of the store's interior are rooted in Louis Vuitton's heritage.

The first floor will present the new Ready-to-Wear and shoe collections for women and men, luggage, city bags, accessories, writing instruments and textiles. In addition, the store will feature a private shopping area on the second floor. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The telephone number is 310/859-0457.
